Gerard Butler will produce the sequel of ‘Law Abiding Citizen’ after the success of its first installment in the streaming site Netflix.

Gerard Butler To Produce ‘Law Abiding Citizen 2’

It is already confirmed that the ‘Law Abiding Citizen 2’ is already on the works. But this time, Gerard Butler along with Lucas Foster and Alan Siegel. Since Butler will produce the sequel of the movie, it is also expected that he will still have the lead role.

The first installment of the ‘Law Abiding Citizen’ has a grossing amount of more than $130 million, according to a published article in DEADLINE. It is not a surprise anymore why the sequel is already on the works and Butler decided to produce it.

The announcement of the sequel was made after it got the #3 position in one of the biggest streaming site Netflix. It comes after star-studded-action film ‘Red Notice’ and Sandra Bullock’s ‘Unforgivable. Meanwhile, there are no details yet about the Plot of its sequel.

Statements From Some Producers

Some of the producers released a statement following the announcement of its sequel. Foster said “I am delighted to partner with Rob, Mike and Village Roadshow Pictures, together with my frequent creative partner Kurt Wimmer, to revisit these great characters and this compelling topic which seems even more relevant today than when we made the original film. We’re going to blow your mind… again,” according to a published article in Screen Rant.

Meanwhile, Paris and Witherill said, “The demand for smart, star-driven action thrillers in the marketplace is palpable, and this is one of those rare unexploited franchise opportunities that was too good to pass up.”
