Woman Allegedly Stabs Her Husband in the Neck, Now Charged With Murder

The Selma Police Department detained a woman who was charged with murder in stabbing her husband in the neck in Selma on Friday and took her into custody.

Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson confirmed to WSFA that Jeanette Towns Moore was detained on Friday on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of her husband, Roderick Moore. According to the CDC, officials believe the deadly stabbing occurred somewhere between late Friday night and early Saturday morning, according to the District Attorney’s office.

Following Jeanette Towns Moore’s arrest at a funeral home on Friday evening, according to Dallas County District Attorney, Michael Jackson, she was taken into custody and charged with the stabbing of Roderick Moore, her husband. Moore had been identified with stab wounds and the Vaughan Regional Medical Center was called to the scene on September 17 by the Toronto Police Department. He was later found dead as a result of the stabs he received.

According to the station, Jeanette Towns Moore managed to transport her husband to the nearest hospital in Selma where Roderick Moore also died later that day. Jeanette Towns Moore is now being held without bond at the Dallas County Jail.

In a statement released by Jackson, it was another case the Selma Police Department has solved since it is the 16th murder of the year in Selma. She continued that until this recent domestic violence of murder committed by Mrs. Moore, Selma had a period of no murders in the last two months and hopefully, this incident will be the last one of the current year.

Jackson said Jeanette Towns Moore will be arraigned on Monday at 9 a.m. in Dallas County District Court, Judge Bob Armstrong’s courtroom at the Dallas County Courthouse.
