Eligible Americans can claim up to $1,400 of the stimulus payment as the IRS begins accepting 2021 tax returns.

Those eligible Americans that did not receive their stimulus payment during spring and met the income requirements, can request the stimulus payment upon they filing taxes. Furthermore, several states across the US are also offering additional stimulus cash to residents, according to published news of The U.S Sun.
Just like Californians are set to receive their final round of stimulus payments this month. Their checks are on their way after being sent out on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. The California pandemic stimulus program provides 180,000 payments worth $127 million that were sent out in late December and should arrive in January.

Here’s What You Need to Know in Filing Your Tax for the Refunds in 2022
In claiming your stimulus payment via the 2021 tax return, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. The IRS has not yet opened its e-filing portal, but you can expect it to become available starting Monday, January 24, 2022, as well as the $1,400 of the stimulus payment.
The average tax refund in 2021 would be at $2,827, a 13.24 percent increase from the previous year. However, there have been changes to charitable contribution deduction. This means there is a chance you will get the same tax refund that you got in 2021.
According to IRS, the tax refund should be issued in less than three weeks, and sooner if you choose direct deposit, in filing tax returns electronically.
Moreover, if you file a paper return, you should expect to wait between six to eight weeks for a refund to be issued. In filing during a tax season, you might expect to wait for long. So if you need your refund as soon as possible, then file earlier.
