Some qualified Americans are expected to receive a $1,400 stimulus check as a direct payment as they file their tax return this year.
Claiming $1,400 Stimulus Check
In a recently published article in Diario AS en, Americans who did not get a third stimulus check in 2021 may be able to claim the money this year on their tax return. The third stimulus check was sent as part of President Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, which was signed into law in March 2021. Eligible US taxpayers received up to $1,400 with families receiving an extra $1,400 per dependent.
Individuals earning up to $75,000 per year and joint filers earning less than $150,000 per year received the whole amount, as was the case with the first and second stimulus checks, which were authorized in April and December 2020, respectively.
Higher incomes, on the other hand, were not eligible for a reduced payment. Those earning more than $80,000 per year and joint filers earning more than $160,000 per year were excluded.

Millions of Stimulus Check Sent Out
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) reported in July 2021 that it had sent 171 third-stimulus-check payments totaling more than $400 billion, with these amounts expected to climb throughout tax season in 2022. Although the third stimulus check was previously based on Americans’ 2019 or 2020 tax returns, the information in taxpayers’ 2021 declarations will now be utilized to decide if they qualify for a payout.
This implies that if a worker’s wages were excessive in 2019 and 2020 but dropped below the income level in 2021, they will be eligible to claim the third stimulus check in the tax return they file this year. Families that added dependents to their family in 2021 would face similar challenges. The $1,400 extra credit is available to dependents of all ages.
Eligible Americans who did not file a return for the 2019 or 2020 tax years and did not claim a direct payment via the IRS’ online tool for non-filers may also utilize a 2021 tax return to obtain their third stimulus check.
