‘The McKameys’ band said on social media- “We want to let everyone know that early this morning Ms. Peg went home to be with her Lord and is now in the presence of The One she sang about for so long. Please continue praying for our family.”
After more than 40 years of touring and performing songs such as “I Have a Home” and “I Made It by Grace”, the band last appeared together as a family in November 2019.
On December 11, the band shared on social media that Bean had been hospitalized due to a stroke. She, along with her sisters and her husband Ruben, initially performed at their church and later became a full-time Southern Gospel group, focusing on gospel music since the 1980s.
The family and band are based in East Tennessee, and their final concert took place at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium.
