Many families are left wondering if they will receive anything close to monthly child tax credit payments in 2022 due to the uncertainty surrounding the passage of the Build Back Better plan. In the face of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, some states and cities continue to offer assistance.
Stimulus Payments
Low- and middle-income Americans received three separate stimulus checks totaling more than $1 trillion. Another stimulus payment from the federal government is highly unlikely. As per Forbes, small-business assistance and increased unemployment insurance benefits are a few of the COVID-19 relief plans.
According to The Sun, one must meet specific income requirements and file a federal income tax return in the United States to receive stimulus payments. Individuals and married couples with taxable incomes up to $75,000 and $150,000, respectively, are eligible for the stimulus payment. Because of how many tax refunds they submit, the amount of stimulus money a family is eligible to receive may be impacted.
