Kidnap Suspect Craig Ross Jr. Faces Scrutiny in Cold Cases

Craig Ross Jr., 18, is being investigated by police for his possible role in the killing of Jennifer “Moonbeam” Hammond. And Christina N. White, 19, according to the Albany Times Union. The girls vanished between 2003 and 2005, and their skeletal remains were discovered in the Lake Desolation State Forest. Ross lives in Milton, New York, about 10 miles from where they went missing.

Investigator Matthew Robinson of the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department. According to the Times Union, the chief investigator on the women’s unsolved deaths, “at this time, we have no information to indicate that he was or was not involved.”

“I can tell you that one of the investigative steps that we will take with regards to the ongoing scrutiny investigation around Mr. Ross will be any association he has with any major case in the area,” he said. “And that is something we are actively pursuing.” But, as of now, we have no evidence that he is connected in any of those (two) incidents.”

Ross was detained on Monday in connection with Charlotte Sena’s kidnapping. Who went missing from Moreau Lake State Park, north of Albany, on Saturday? According to police, they were also led to Ross after removing fingerprints from a ransom note. Around 4 a.m. Monday, he put a note in the Sena family’s mailbox.

Col. Richard Allen of the New York State Police told NewsNation this week that the ransom note was a “key” piece of evidence that led investigators to Sena. Who was discovered in a cabinet in a trailer behind Ross’ mother’s mobile home.

Former FBI Agent Suggests Investigating Possible Links Between Kidnap Suspect Craig Ross Jr. and Cold Cases

Former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer believes it is natural for law enforcement to investigate other crimes. Which Ross could be linked to, and where Ross would suit the suspect profile.

“Law enforcement has a duty to look at any and all cases that would have similar modus operandi, specifically other kidnappings,” Coffindaffer stated on Friday’s episode of “CUOMO.” “(The victims) were also in the area similar to where he was known to be.”

Mark Geragos, a well-known defence attorney, echoed that sentiment.

“Whenever there is a string of incidents like this, that is the first thing the police or law enforcement does.” “We’re trying to make sure there’s no connection,” Geragos explained.

Following Ross’ arrest, state police searched his mother’s mobile home on Tuesday. According to the Times Union, the trailer was also in the backyard and Ross’ pickup truck was in the driveway. It was unclear what evidence, if any, had been recovered.

“At this time, there is no direct evidence or information that links Ross to the White or Hammond cases,” police investigator Robinson told the publication. “We have nothing to give us (evidence) that he is involved — there’s no, like, hot lead that says he’s our guy or anything like that.”
