Gunfire Erupts at Valley Stream Party: Multiple Injured in Shooting Incident

Long Island’s VALLEY STREAM (WABC) — Three children were shot, and one guy was murdered. Late Monday night, a shooter opened fire on an unlawful gathering in Valley Stream.

The crime scene was three blocks long on Ocean Avenue near 131st Avenue.

According to Nassau County officials, a 20-year-old Brooklyn male was shot in the chest and pronounced dead on Tuesday.

A 12-year-old child stood at the doorway when he was shot. After a bullet entered and exited his back, he was shot in the left upper shoulder.

Two other teenagers, all 17 and from Elmont, were also hit. One was struck in the back of the leg, and the other in the knee.

During the pandemonium that followed the gunshot, a fifth victim sustained a cut to her hand.

Following the gunshot, the gunman, identified as a guy wearing black clothing, fled. He is said to have fired eight bullets from a semi-automatic weapon.Weapon with a calibre of 380.

According to authorities, over 100 people attended the unlawful gathering. Because the organisers were charging entry and perhaps providing beer and liquid marijuana to minors.

The space’s owner stated that the party organisers were not permitted to serve alcohol. Also she was devastated by the outcome.

“The individual who was hit sought sanctuary inside my event space. “Unfortunately, I learned that he did not survive, so please accept my condolences,” said property owner Deborah Young.

One partygoer told Eyewitness News that everything changed from calm to chaotic.

Keith Joseph stated, “I’m not sure how things turned violent, whether there was an altercation. “It was a quiet night with perhaps some music, not too loud, no music that was violent, and no energy like that.” At the end of the day, we’re just here to have fun. A nice time had quickly turned into a miserable night. Also they become a bit aggressive.”

Nassau County officials have promised to tighten down on the celebrations. A flyer for this party went viral on social media.

“We’ll make sure it’s all the way up and down the border with New York City and Nassau County,” said Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder.
