Back To Work CT Program
Bonus payments are being given out in many states this holiday season. According to The Sun, local governments in several states are deciding which residents are eligible for a fourth stimulus check, and how much they will receive. In order to be eligible for the $1,000 unexpected stimulus payment in Connecticut, residents of the state must take immediate action.
For this bonus-paying initiative, $10 million has been set aside to benefit up to 10,000 job seekers. The program is administered by the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services and expires on December 31, 2021, in conjunction with the Connecticut Department of Labor. Unemployed Connecticut residents who meet the program’s eligibility requirements must apply for Back to Work CT online in order to receive a $1,000 bonus payment, according to NCBCT. At this time, there will be no paper submissions.

The Eligible Recipients Of The Surprise Stimulus
According to the Connecticut Portal, the Department of Revenue Services may contact an applicant to verify their employment after the applicant has completed eight consecutive weeks of work experience. This one-time bonus will assist some employees in covering the necessities of life, such as child care, in order to return to the workforce.
A person must meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for a Back to Work CT incentive payment:
- Have filed an unemployment compensation weekly claim with the State of Connecticut for the week May 23-29, 2021;
- Have filed an unemployment compensation weekly claim with the State of Connecticut for 11 additional weeks between December 27, 2020, and May 22, 2021;
- Obtain and maintain a full-time job for eight consecutive weeks between May 30 and December 31, 2021; and
- Not file an unemployment compensation weekly claim with the State of Connecticut for any portion of the required eight consecutive weeks of employment.
