A shooting at an Athens shopping center reportedly resulted in the injuries of several individuals. On the 400th block of North Avenue, the shooting occurred. At this time, neither the number of injured people nor the severity of their injuries is known. Some injuries, according to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, may have been caused by debris or ricocheted bullets rather than direct fire.

On Thursday, the suspect in a recent shooting in east Athens was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated battery. Ambria Shantara Rhodes, 29, of Coleridge Court, was set up for the Athens-Clarke Area Prison, where she is being held without bond. Athens-Clarke police say that Rhodes has been the subject of a search since the April 16 shooting, when witnesses said that she was the one who started firing a gun on Coleridge Court, which is off Lexington Highway.
Ayesha M. Bullock, 29, of Athens, was shot in the head during the gunfire, police said. She was taken to the hospital, despite her wounds being not life-threatening. Bullock was visiting companions in the area and was not engaged with a past question that elaborate Rhodes for sure others on Martin Circle, as per police. According to the police, Rhodes used her pistol three times before driving from the scene. Most Athens-Clarke County departments were closed on Earth Day, so no information regarding Rhodes’s arrest was available on Friday.
