Anyone with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes will experience hyperglycemia in which blood sugar levels would go at dangerously high levels for long periods. The National Health Services advise people experiencing hyperglycemia to immediately seek medical care. So how do you know that you have high blood sugar levels? Experts say two symptoms can be observed when using the toilet.
Two Symptoms of Hyperglycemia
Diabetes UK said that blood sugar levels can go up and down for those with diabetes and often show larger changes and happen more often than the rest of the population.
NHS added that no matter how careful a diabetic person will be, hyperglycemic will inevitably happen to them. It can be potentially dangerous, especially when it stays high for long periods. Express.co.uk reported that some cases may not even show symptoms although there are some that can be easily spotted when using the toilet.
These two symptoms are frequent urination and bladder infections. When there is too much sugar in the blood, it becomes too taxing to the kidneys to process the sugar so it triggers urination to eliminate it from the body. However, it also flushes out valuable fluids from the body that often leaves people dehydrated as well.

How to Prevent Hyperglycemia
According to Cleveland Clinic, hyperglycemia means there is too much sugar in the blood due to the lack of insulin. It is commonly associated with diabetes with symptoms of excessive hunger ad thirst, rapid heartbeat, visual problems, and other symptoms. If left untreated, it can lead to serious health problems.
Diabetic people can manage hypoglycemic by choosing to eat a healthy diet, being active, and managing stress. These strategies also prevent hyperglycemia in addition to not smoking, limiting alcohol intake, and maintaining a healthy weight.
