The tumultuous events surrounding  “The Kingdoms of Ruin”  anime have taken a turn with the announcement of a new cast member. Anri Katsu, recognized for his role as Naoki Fujieda in “NANA,” is set to take on the character of Oz in the series. This development comes in the wake of the removal of Junya Ikeda, the original voice for Oz, following his arrest in connection to a fraud case.

The official website and social media accounts for “The Kingdoms of Ruin” revealed the casting decision, assuring fans that Anri Katsu’s inclusion will not disrupt the broadcast schedule or the release of the Blu-ray version. To commemorate the change, a new version of Episode 3, featuring Anri Katsu as Oz, is slated for release on November 14.

The decision to bring in Anri Katsu comes after the arrest of Junya Ikeda on October 26 for alleged connections to a fraud case, wherein he was accused of impersonating a police officer. Subsequently, talent agency BāRU announced the termination of Ikeda’s contract on October 27 in response to the arrest.

The addition of Anri Katsu to the cast injects new energy and anticipation into “The Kingdoms of Ruin,” offering viewers a fresh perspective on the character of Oz.
