John Keith Jackson was an English football goalkeeper who appeared in 656 Football League matches for Crystal Palace, Leyton Orient, Millwall, Ipswich Town, and Hereford United. He also played for the North American Soccer League’s St. Louis Star and California Surf. Jackson, born in Hammersmith, joined Crystal Palace as a junior after graduating from St. Clement Danes School in March 1962. He also played for Brentford as a junior. He made 222 consecutive appearances and was constantly present during Palace’s first-ever season at the top level in 1968-1969.
