He enjoyed fishing, fish frying, soccer, and Christmastime with his brothers. Ryan was a lifelong learner who enjoyed reading and researching the Bible. Ryan fell in love with football in junior high school in Lindale, when he also became heavily involved in youth group and earned the cherished moniker “Hitman” King. During his time in high school, he not only developed a love for football but also for soccer and one-act plays.
Ryan attended Stephen F. Austin College after high school and graduated with a degree in communications. He played intramural football for the Orangemen, a team at SFA, and made a lot of friends playing on it. He first made the acquaintance of Brittany Adkison, his future wife, while attending SFA.
