Following a shooting at an Indianapolis Waffle House early on Monday morning, at least one person was murdered and five more were injured.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department stated in a statement that at around 12:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to the restaurant’s South Lynhurst Drive location after receiving reports of a shooting.
The statement said that five persons were recovered with suspected gunshot wounds and brought to hospitals, one of them was a badly injured lady.
Authorities identify woman killed
Police claimed the woman subsequently passed away at the hospital. Her identity will be made public by the Marion County Coroner’s Office, which ascertains the manner and cause of death, following notification of her family.
The statement said that the remaining casualties, who were identified by the police as three males and one woman, were stable.
A sixth gunshot victim in serious condition was subsequently reported to the police; the guy either drove himself to the hospital or received assistance, according to the police.
