Kingsbury is best known for his role in developing college and NFL quarterbacks such as Case Keenum, Johnny Manziel, Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield, and Caleb Williams.

During his college years, Kingsbury played football for Texas Tech. He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft and played professionally in the NFL, NFL Europe, and the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Kliff Kingsbury career

Kingsbury joined the New England Patriots as the 201st overall selection in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, he missed his rookie year due to a hand injury but still earned a Super Bowl ring with the team. The Patriots released him on September 6, 2004.

Afterward, he joined the New Orleans Saints practice squad for the entire 2004 season. In 2005, he briefly joined the Denver Broncos’ practice squad before being released. Kingsbury then signed with the New York Jets on September 28, 2005. He made his NFL debut on November 20, 2005, playing for the Jets against the Denver Broncos.

Following his stint with the Jets, Kingsbury was signed by the Buffalo Bills in 2006 but was waived before the regular season began. In 2007, he joined the Montreal Alouettes, a team in the Canadian Football League. However, on June 20, 2007, he was traded to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. During the 2007 season, he served as the third-line quarterback for the Blue Bombers, behind Kevin Glenn and Ryan Dinwiddie.
