In the late 1970s, he recorded a song called “Baby Do You Wanna Bump”, a reworked version of Prince Buster’s 1967 hit “Al Capone”. The song was released under the name Boney M in 1976 as a single and on the album “Take the Heat of Me”.
Farian also created a special conglomerate called the Far Corporation, named after the first part of his last name. The group included famous musicians such as Steve Lukather, Bobby Kimball, David Paich, and Simon Phillips of the band Toto, as well as Robin McAuley.
In 1986, Farian worked on the Meat Loaf album Blind Before I Stop, both producing and mixing it. He even lent his voice as a background vocalist to the album’s lead song, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Mercenaries”, which was credited to Meat Loaf featuring John Parr.
Then, on November 14, 1990, Farian admitted to being behind the Milli Vanilli scandal. He revealed that, as a producer, he put together a group of talented musicians and presented it with exotic dancers named Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan.
