Who is Lawyer Adila Hassim? Know Her Age, Husband, Religion and more

Adila Hassim is a South African advocate. She gained global recognition when she worked as a member of the legal team in the South Africa vs. Israel case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in January 2024.

Adila Hassim also worked on the Limpopo textbook case, which came to the Supreme Court in 2015. Adila represented the Sonke Gender Justice and Treatment Action Campaign in the 2015 silicosis class action against 32 companies in court.

In 2017, Adila Hassim became the lead counsel in the Life Esidimeni Arbitration and fought for mental health patients affected by Act 32 and the scam.

Adila Hassim did her studies at the University of Natal with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB).
After graduating in 1999, she received a Franklin Thomas Fellowship to pursue a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Saint Louis University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri.

Additionally, she was awarded the Rev. Lavers-Bradlow Foundation Fellowship to obtain her doctorate. Master of Law Sciences (JSD) at Notre Dame Law School in Notre Dame, Indiana, completing the program in 2006.

Adila Hassim is a married woman. She has two children. Adila Hassim has not shared any information about her husband due to which there are no details about her husband and married life.

In 2010, Adila Hassim was instrumental in founding the public interest organization Section27, where she later took on the role of Litigation Director.

She is one of the founding members of Corruption Watch. Currently, Adila Hasim works as Senior Counsel at Thulamela Chambers.
