Two $1,400 Stimulus Checks Could Be Released Next Month

WH spokesperson Jen Psaki said the administration is continuing to work to get a bill passed by this month that will finance these checks somehow. To make up for what they missed in January, the Biden administration says families will receive a much larger payment in February, according to Business Insider.

Rejected By Senator Joe Manchin

Numerous Americans have needed additional stimulus checks or regular monthly payments due to the current COVID-19 pandemic. As part of President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan, the Child Tax Credit was approved in the spring and frequently quoted as a substitute to the fourth round of stimulus payments by lawmakers, according to The Sun.

Child tax credit payouts for the year 2021 ended on December 15. President Biden’s Build Back Better Act, that would have prolonged child tax credit payments to individuals and families started in July has been rejected by West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin.

Stimulus Check Will Face Challenges In 2022

Due to Senator Joe Manchin’s reluctance to accept President Biden’s almost $2 trillion Build Back Better plan, stimulus payments will be scrapped in 2022. Child tax credits will be unavailable in January, seeing as Congress has already postponed and the IRS needed legislation passed within the next several days, as per Local 12.

All who opted out from the child tax credit program in the past obtained a catch-up check in December to compensate for the payments they missed. Some families, particularly those who have a new dependent, will continue to do so. According to officials close to Joe Biden, Building Back Better is still a priority for the administration. Hold votes on each section as a tactic of passing it down.
