Another wave of COVID-19 stimuli may soon be available. Democratic and Republican lawmakers have begun early talks about a new round of possible coronavirus stimulus spending, and even more so with the omicron variant surging across the United States.
Another Stimulus Check
According to Reuters, there is no formal proposal yet. Still, a bipartisan group is looking into whether Congress can help restaurants and other businesses affected by the latest wave of cases, according to Democratic U.S. Senator Ben Cardin. To help restaurants and other businesses, they’ll have to wrestle for their votes in a House that is currently divided along party lines and wary of adding to the federal deficit.
However, the discussions reflect the nation’s growing concern about the omicron variant, which has spread across the country at an alarming rate. Lawmakers are concerned that the pandemic could have a devastating impact on the economy as coronavirus cases continue to rise to record levels. As far as the White House is concerned, it has stated that it is prepared for any immediate economic consequences of the omicron wave, as per The Washington Post.

Not Certain Yet
Private payrolls in the United States are rising faster than expected, holiday retail sales are strong, and supply chain problems are easing. As a result, some events have been nixed or postponed, and positive COVID-19 Omicron cases have disrupted the workforce.
Businesses like restaurants, music venues, gyms, and even minor sports leagues teams that could be affected by the second wave of COVID-19 would benefit from the relief, as per The Washington Post. New expenditures and unused funds would be utilized in this plan, and a new spending plan may include stimulus payments to American taxpayers, but this is not certain.
