The spiking Coronavirus cases of Omicron variant leads the Supreme Court in weighing the Vaccine Mandate of the Biden Administration that might affect more than 80 million people
The Vaccine Mandates
Friday, a two-hour court hearing was set on fire as they argue whether to impose the vaccine mandates that where it applies a vaccine or testing that demands major companies and the health care workers, distinct mandates to enforce them as well. Moreover, the Business sector together with the Republican-led states have filed a legal challenge towards the said changes but still, the Supreme Court will determine the vaccine mandates, and it will surely affect more than 80 Million American people.
The challengers still dispute the vaccine requirements and defining the measurements was beyond the administration’s authority, while on the other hand, Elizabeth Prelogar, saying both are needed to avoid unnecessary hospitalizations and deaths. Prelogar also mentions that delaying the vaccine mandates for healthcare would result in thousands of death and severe illnesses from COVID-19 that can have been avoided.
Health Care Worker’s Vaccine Mandatory
The vaccination mandates will apply to all health care workers. It also provides federal Medicare or Medicaid funding to every health worker affecting 76,000 health care facilities as well as home health care providers. Furthermore, the federal court of New Orleans and St. Louis are against the mandates in about half the states. The administration is taking one step ahead to enforce.
The issues are from the court to emerge a basis that the court took the unusual step of scheduling the debates rather than just ruling the briefs that are submitted by the parties. Unlike in other cases, the court hears a decision from the justices that might come in weeks, if not days.
