Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021

The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 funds this program, which is part of the Biden Administration’s Build Back Better pandemic response. $20 million of the $700 million will be used to fund a pilot program to help grocery store employees. Farmworkers, meatpackers, and front-line grocery workers will receive assistance with costs incurred due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Personal, family, and living expenses associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, such as personal protective equipment (PPE), childcare, and costs related to quarantines and testing, will be covered as part of this aid, according to USDA.

The call for applications will be made public in the early fall of 2021 and will remain open for a period of 60 days following the announcement. Farmers and meatpackers who have been affected by the pandemic will be reimbursed for expenses incurred up to a maximum of $600 by eligible organizations, as per ASAS.

Essential Workers Stimulus Check

According to BGR, money from this new stimulus check is earmarked for a particular demographic of Americans. Millions of Americans could stay at home and avoid the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to the essential workers in everything from grocery stores to meatpacking plants.

Even though these people’s jobs necessitated them to be in close proximity to one another daily, it was impossible for them to work remotely. New stimulus payments are thus intended to reward those who worked tirelessly during the coronavirus pandemic.

This grant program is open to nonprofit organizations and state government agencies. They’ll have until the end of the day on February 8th, 2022, to accomplish this. In 2022, stimulus recipients will be able to apply for a payment from the entities that received their stimulus checks.
