According to authorities, at least four persons were shot on the Morgan State University campus in Baltimore on Thursday night.
Shooting Near Morgan State University Campus Leaves Four Injured, All Expected to Survive
Around 7:30 p.m., a gunshot took place in the 1400 block of Hillsmere Avenue, not far from the university’s campus. Four people were shot, according to the police, and all of the injured are expected to live.
The victims have not been named, but according to the authorities, they are all Morgan State students.
No suspects have been taken into custody as of yet, and police are currently looking into the shooting.
Police Commissioner Michael Harrison in Baltimore stated, “This is a very severe matter. “We’re working to figure out what happened and hold those accountable accountable,”
The Morgan State community is still reeling from the shooting.
President David Wilson of Morgan State declared, “This is a tragedy.” “Our thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones. We are making every effort to support our staff and students during this trying time.
University Implements Safety Measures Following Shooting Incident
In response to the shooting, the university has established a variety of safety precautions. Increased security at the university’s entrances and exits as well as a larger police presence on campus are some of these precautions.
Wilson declared, “We are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of our students and staff.”
The ongoing spate of gun violence on college campuses includes this most recent shooting. A student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte was shot and murdered in May. At the University of Texas at Austin, a student was shot and seriously injured in April.
