At a state jail in southeast Georgia on Tuesday, an inmate is accused of ambushing and killing a prison guard from Georgia. Robert Clark, a 42-year-old prisoner, has been accused of murder.

Jeremiah Johnston, 52, was working at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson when he was attacked by Clark, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections. After the assault, Johnston was discovered unconscious in a prison hallway. He was declared dead there and then.
