Applicants for food stamps in Denver are being sent to food banks because the municipal agency in charge of the program is trying to fill available positions, which is causing delays in the process.

Important Information You Need To Know About Food Stamps
In a recently published article in 9 News, Human services officials in Denver told a news outlet on Tuesday that they are working to fill 70 vacancies for eligibility technicians at their organization. Spokesperson Adriana Lopez explained that these positions are generally responsible for processing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments.
There hasn’t been a lot of interest in these positions yet, according to Lopez, so they’re still taking applications. Denver’s municipal website has an application form for anyone interested in applying.
In addition, Denver Human Services and the Food Bank of the Rockies will host their monthly food pantry on Friday, December 17th. The event is open to everyone, and there is no need to register. Who are Prioritized with the Food Stamps?
Food stamp claims for persons who are being evicted, elderly at-risk adults, or those with medical issues are to be prioritized by the city in the meantime. Community members who have already submitted documents and fear they are in danger may contact them at 720-944-4347, Lopez said.
