Sunday, a deadly tornado ripped Tennessee, and Kentucky ravaged the area overnight resulting in more than 200,000 customers being out of power.
Deadly Tornadoes hits Tennessee and Kentucky
In Tennessee, the total outages were reported estimating 137,599 and on the other hand for Kentucky are around 71,982 customers who are currently experiencing blackouts, according to PowerOutage.US. Furthermore, the outage tracker showed that Arkansas has a total blackout of more than 25,000.
In addition, Illinois and Indiana spotted large, billowing black tornadoes howling the areas. Footage from Fox 19 shows the danger that hovers in Bowling Green, Kentucky before a radar-confirmed tornado zaps the signal. The tornado caused severe weather was to be blamed for many deaths and injuries across the Midwest and South.
The Storm cause a Massive Devastation
The town of Mayfield of western Kentucky was ‘ground zero’ because of the storm. Official defined the scene as a ‘massive devastation.” Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said many were anxious about death at the Mayfield. Moreover, Beshear also said that “We were pretty sure that we would lose over 50 Kentuckians. I’m certain the number in the north is in 70. It may end up resulting around 100 before the day is done,”
The candle factory’s roof collapsed resulting in a high number of death. In Addition, one person was killed due to the tornado and around 20 people were trapped in the Arkansas Monet Manor Nursing Home as the structure collapsed and killed one person. Two others in building collapsed near the cities of Defense and New Fair in Missouri.
President Joe Biden posted a tweet about how devastating he is over to the massive storms across the central U.S. and said that it is an ‘unimaginable tragedy’. Biden also vowed to extend help to provide all needs to ensure they have everything they need in the federal aid.
