The stimulus payments that were part of the CARES Act in 2020 and the American Rescue Plan in 2021 were part of a larger federal stimulus package designed to support the economy. Under the American Rescue Plan, families could claim all $3,600 for children under the age of six and $3,000 for children between the ages of six and seventeen. After a six-month installment plan began on July 1 and will end in December, households will receive the remaining credit when they file their tax returns for the following year. In 2022, eligible citizens can expect a 5.9 percent increase in their benefits, while an additional 8 million SSI recipients will begin receiving increased payments on December 30, as per SSA.

As the COVID-19 Delta variant spreads across the country, some government states are distributing payments. According to MARCA, some states in the United States have financial aid and stimulus checks available to help their citizens. It’s because this time around, the stimulus money is not coming from the federal government, as it was in the previous stimulus. The location of one’s home now has a significant impact on one’s life.
