FSIS Issues Food Recall of Evans Food Group Products, Here’s Why

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced a food recall of pork pellet products from Evans Food Group.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) agency, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), recently issued an urgent recall of Evans Food Group Ltd meat products. The FSIS discovered the problem during a routine surveillance check of imported products.

According to the agency, approximately 10,359 pounds of pork pellet products did not undergo re-inspection before being imported to the United States. The pork pellet products arrived in the United States last month and were processed into various snacks.

The FSIS has released a complete list of products from the processed pork pellets subject to recall. Products from Mac’s brand, Cazo de Oro, Turkey Creek Snacks, and pork rind products with the 7-11 logo are included in the list. The establishment number “EST. 6030” is inscribed on the USDA seal on the products subject to recall. Distributors transported the products to retail locations across the country, including Arizona, California, Utah, and Washington.

FSIS Advice And Solution

The FSIS is concerned that some customers purchased the product, as it was imported a month ago. The agency is advising consumers who may have bought the products not to consume them. These products should be discarded or returned to the retailer.

FSIS conducts recall effectiveness inspections regularly to ensure that recalling firms inform their customers of the recall and take actions to ensure the product is no longer available to consumers. The retail distribution list(s) will be made publicly available on the FSIS website as soon as they become available.

The FSIS announced that no adverse reaction due to the products were reported. However, the recall is being made as a precautionary measure.
