Andrew Tate, a controversial media personality, is said to have been detained by Romanian anti-terrorism officials. According to the Romanian newspaper Libertatea, he and his brother, Tristan Tate, were imprisoned on charges of forming an organised crime organisation that exploits girl’s videos.

Andrew Investigation Starts:

Andrew and Tristan Tate are being investigated for human trafficking, and the DIICOT will question them (Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism). DIICOT confirmed the raid but did not identify the suspects. According to Reuters, the brothers’ lawyer confirmed their incarceration. The names of the British brothers have been recorded in a criminal file. According to the Romanian news channel Antena, a former policewoman, was also searched for her possible involvement in the case.

Prosecutors Statement:

Prosecutors in Romania believe the Tates are recruiting and exploiting women to generate pornographic recordings to resell on platforms such as OnlyFans. In April, Romanian authorities seized two young ladies (one of whom had American citizenship) at a Voluntari property, who claimed the Tates were detaining them against their will. The brothers were questioned at DIICOT before being released, according to Libertatea, although the inquiry is still ongoing.

Greta Thunberg was tagged in a tweet earlier this week by Andrew Tate, a 19-year-old climate activist who boasted about his 33 autos. “Please offer your email address so that I may send a complete inventory of my automotive collection and their corresponding huge emissions,” he wrote. Thunberg answered, “Yes, please enlighten me. Please get in touch with me at [email protected].” The statement quickly became one of the most-liked tweets of all time, with nearly 3 million likes. On Wednesday, Tate responded to Thunberg with a video where he eats pizza from a package labelled “Jerry’s Pizza,” a Romanian restaurant brand.

Tate rose to popularity as a visitor on the British reality show “Big Brother” in 2016, where he was chastised for homophobic and racist tweets. He was discharged from the front lines after a video showed him beating a woman with a belt. Both Tate and the woman indicated that their actions were mutual. Elon Musk revoked Tate’s Twitter ban a month ago. The Tate brothers started a webcam business that sold “fabricated sob tales” to male callers. Andrew claims he made millions from the plan, which he later admitted was a “total fabrication.”
