Hall county Sheriff’s office shared the message on their Facebook post “The Hall County Sheriff’s Office extends deepest condolences to family, friends and former colleagues of retired Capt. John Neal Bagwell, who died on Monday, Dec. 26, at the age of 54”.

Capt. Bagwell served in the United States Marine Corps in the Hall County Sheriff’s Office; during his service, he played an important role in Operation Desert Storm. He joined the Sheriff’s office as a deputy and upgraded his ranks to become a captain, and he retired after serving 27 years for the citizens of Hall County.
Capt. Bagwell held a degree from Clemson University, a Master of Public Administration Degree. When he served for HCSO, he was also captain of the Honor Guard. As told by his near ones, he had a keen knowledge of military history. He was also a member of Gideon’s international while an active member of Maysville Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Callie Beth Bagwell of Walnut Grove, Georgia; mother, Carole Fleming Bagwell of Commerce; brother, Erik Bagwell (Gretchen) of Monroe, Georgia; nephews, Grant and Davis Bagwell of Monroe, Georgia; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins”.
On Friday, graveside services involving family will take place at Grey Hill Cemetry. The family requests donations to the Maysville Baptist Church Building fund instead of flowers.
