Cornelius Police Department was still empty-handed in Finding an 11-year-old missing girl, Madalina Cojocari, who had been missing since November but was not reported missing until December 15. A few days ago, Cornelius Police shared footage of Madalina getting off her school bus, confirming the last sighting of the girl.

According to the department, Madalina’s parents are not cooperating and are ambiguous about not telling the truth. The Cornelius Police captain Jennifer Thompson shared the latest update on the case in a video message:

“School officials had repeatedly tried to contact Madalina and her parents…One of the challenges in this case, simply put, we were not notified she was gone. A delay of three weeks,” “This is a serious case of a child whose parents clearly are not telling us everything they know.”

Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari and her stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, are thus facing charges of not reporting the child’s missing to law enforcement.

Madalina Cojocari’s parents are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday for a hearing. Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari, when asked about not reporting the child’s missing, said that she had a conflict with his husband, after which her husband took a flight to Michigan and thus, she was afraid to tell him of her disappearance. She also reported that her husband put her family in danger.
