NBC has hired Somara Theodore as a temporary replacement for Al Roker for the Today Show. Fans are loving her weather forecast but at the same time missed their beloved Al Roker signature flair. The meteorologist is perhaps battling prostate cancer and was hospitalized for blood clots in his legs and lungs since November. Al was discharged from the hospital on December 8, 2022, but continues to recover at home. The Today show crew is missing Al and praying for his speedy recovery.

Somara Theodore is a meteorologist who works for WRC-TV in Washington DC. Somara is currently replacing Al Roker on The Today Show. She is also working as the weather presenter at NBC’s Weekend Today. The meteorologist prior to NBC also worked in Georgia and Ohio and won an Emmy during her time in Ohio. Somara announced her new post on Instagram by captioning-

“Filling in for Al this cold morning! Holiday travel will yield delays as a result of this storm moving thru such a wide swath of the country.”

   The 65-year-old meteorologist is battling prostate cancer. Al Roker said that his family is a major support in his battle with cancer and also he had a good team of doctors who are making their best efforts to recover him. Well, it seems that viewers have to wait for more time to see their favourite host on the show. So for now it is unclear when he will return to his show.

Early December Al Roker from his Today show companions received a surprise which led him to shed happy tears. The Today show hosts including Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Jenna Bush Hager and Dylan Dreyer wearing Santa caps arrived at his house to boost his spirit. They sang Jingle Bells and I’ll Be Home for Christmas for their beloved host. Al Roker on Instagram also shared the video of his surprise thanking his co-hosts for the love they showered upon him.
