Hugh Hootman, 75, has been charged with the murder of 81-year-old Henry and Ginger Wallace. Let’s take a closer look at Hugh Hootman and why he shot.

Who is Hugh Hootman?

A retired couple was shot Saturday afternoon at the Cedar Pointe Condominiums by one of their neighbors after a homeowners quarrel turned deadly, according to police. Hugh Hootman, 75, is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Henry and Ginger. According to authorities, Hootman shot both of them in the chest outside their residence. “We got the call and happened to be close to that unit,” Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said. We had team members there because they were preparing to provide security for the Hobe Sound parade.” Snyder added that Ginger was the president of the building’s HOA.

Cedar Pointe Apartment shooting:

According to Synder, the apparent motive for the shooting was a conflict with the homeowner’s organization. When the cops came, they found the couple on the sidewalk.” Henry Wallace was discovered holding his keys. When the deputies arrived, neighbors alerted them that Hootman was upstairs in his flat. According to Snyder, he walked out of the house and surrendered himself in less than 20 minutes.

Who and Why the Incident Happens?

On Saturday afternoon, Hootman shot and killed the couple at the Cedar Pointe Condominium Complex on East Ocean Boulevard. A continuing disagreement appeared to be the catalyst for the shooting. Hootman lived above Wallace’s apartment. According to reports, a feud seems to be at the heart of the killings.
“I saw her at 3 p.m. that day,” Joanne Ryder, a Cedar Pointe resident, recounted. “I was walking across the parking to offer her a tool of hers.” She came out of the house, all effervescent and joyful.”

When Ryder returned from a Christmas shopping trip, she was surprised to see crime scene tape covering the Wallaces’ unit and police cars. “I had a lot of respect for her.” “As president, she had a lot to deal with,” Ryder explained. “She was just doing her job, and in the little time I knew her, she was quite beneficial to me,” Ryder claimed. Henry Wallace favoured silence and enjoyed riding his bicycle around the condo complex. “This is a retirement home.” This is not something you anticipate to happen. “It’s a travesty,” Ryder added. “I must inform the family that both parents died before Christmas.”
