LiL Wayne Early Life
Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., better known as Lil Wayne, was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 27, 1982. When Wayne was two years old, his parents were divorced, and he moved in with his chef mother. He was up in Hollygrove, one of the poorest neighbourhoods in New Orleans. His bond with his deceased stepfather, Rabbit, was close. Wayne honours Rabbit with a tattoo.
Wayne gave an explanation for why he dropped the “D” from his name in an interview with CBS. “I dropped the D because I’m a junior and my father is living and he’s not in my life and he’s never been in my life,” he said. As a result, I would rather be Wayne than Dwayne.
