Filipino singer-songwriter, musician, actor, TV personality, and entrepreneur named Daniel Morales Javier. On August 6, 1947, he was born, and on October 31, 2022, he passed away. He was well-known for being the eldest and main vocalist of the well-liked musical group The APO Hiking Society, which also comprised Jim Paredes and Boboy Garrovillo. OPM, which stands for “Original Pinoy Music,” “Original Philippine Music,” or “Original Pilipino Music,” is a phrase he invented. It was first used to define Philippine pop songs, particularly ballads, and any music composed by a Filipino that rose to popularity in the Philippines from the late 1970s to the present.

Born in Abuyog, Leyte, Javier. Leonardo “Andok” Javier Sr. of Leyte was his father. He was the brother of the comedian George “Dyords” Javier, the former actor Jimmy Javier, the current vice governor of Leyte and owner of the Andok’s Litson Corporation food chain, Leonardo “Sandy” Javier Jr., and the former mayor of Javier, Leyte. He attended both San Beda University and Ateneo de Manila University. Singer-actress Mica Javier is his niece. Jobim, Javier’s son, performed as a stage actor in Eto Na! Musikal nAPO, a musical adaptation of the first tribute album Kami nAPO Muna, as well as a radio DJ at Jam 88.3.

Javier also launched the Pidro: Ang Saplot Ng Bayan T-shirt company. It was based on a fictional figure he created named Pidro, a guy from the Philippines’ countryside who traveled to Manila in search of good fortune. Javier relocated to General Santos City and began making frequent travels to the US when APO split up in 2010. Javier was so ill in 2011 that he was on the verge of passing away. He was suffering from hepatitis, diabetes, sepsis, renal failure, pneumonia, emphysema, and pneumonia. Later, he began to advocate for the use of moringa as a complementary and/or alternative medicine. On October 31, 2022, Javier passed away at the age of 75 following a protracted illness. Justine, his daughter, corroborated this.

Javier is the brother of comedian George “Dyords” Javier, a former actor turned photographer Leonardo “Sandy” Javier Jr., and Jimmy Javier, currently the proprietor of the Andok’s Litson Corporation restaurant chain. Javier is the son of Leyte native Leonardo “Andok” Justine Javier, Jamael Javier, Javier Sr. Jobim Javier, and Juliene Javier were the four children of Danny Javier.
