Following the receipt of his paycheck and believing he had been underpaid, a Detroit man viciously beat his 75-year-old employer unconscious last week, according to authorities. He is accused of repeated brutal kicking of the elderly in the head, FOX2 Detroit reported.
Keith Demetrious Taylor, 32, on Thursday was charged with an objective to do great bodily harm less than murder. Taylor was recorded on security footage assaulting his boss till he dropped to the ground, then he repeatedly kicked the older man in the head and face as he struggled to get to his feet.
He Assumed He Had Been Underpaid
Taylor, according to the investigators, is an employee of a landscaping company. Taylor and his employer trim a lawn in Rochester Hills. At the time before departing the property, he inquired about payment. According to the authorities, when he received his salary, he assumed he had been underpaid.
He apparently became furious and began shouting profanities at his employer before launching an attack on him. Taylor was captured on video kicking and knocking his boss to the ground. Authorities claim he kicked the victim repeatedly in the head and face until he was rendered unconscious by the impact. According to reports, he remained in the area yelling while the victim lay on the ground.
When a senior citizen is attacked in a brutal and unprovoked manner, it shocks the consciousness, Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said, according to the station. On October 19, Taylor is scheduled to appear in court for a probable cause conference.
Taylor Has Criminal Records
Taylor has a lengthy criminal record. The 36th District Court in Detroit has issued warrants for Taylor on charges of assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm less than murder and aggravated assault, and the Highland Park Police Department has issued three driving violations for Taylor. Besides the Phoenix convictions, Taylor has been pressed on charges of drugs and endangerment from Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as an assault conviction from Detroit.
