The call played at the Leicester High Court in which Saqib is telling the Operator “I’m being followed by two vehicles. They’re trying to block me in. They’ve got balaclavas on. “They’re trying to ram me off the road. They’re trying to kill me. Collingwood Thompson KC, Prosecuting, Opened the Case on Oct 27
The last conversation was handed on to the jury at Leicester Crown Court of the alleged murder of Mohammad Hashim Ijazuddin and Saqib Hussain in the early hours of February 11 this year. All eight people who are in the trial denied the charge.
Thompson in court said Saqib Hussain and Ansreen Bukhari were in a relationship that ended in January 2022 that led up to the murders in February 2022. He chronicles the event as a “story of love, obsession, anger, attempts at extortion and, ultimately, of murder”.
According to him, Saqib was upset that Ansreen was ending their relationship, and he was in anger blackmailing Ansreen to send $exually explicit material to her husband and her son unless she talk to him. A way has to be found to get rid of the situation either by warning him and causing him a serious injury or by killing him. Mahek who has a large number of followers on Tik Tok might get affected by this affair and send a message to her mother Ansreen “I’ll soon get him jumped by guys and he won’t know what day it is”. They had a deal to not release the explicit pictures and video of Ansreen if Saqib got paid.
They set a trap to persuade Saqib into a meeting. They wanted him to hand over the phone if not they are willing to cause him a serious injury or silence him completely.
