We’ve followed Hardin Scott and Tessa Young’s romance throughout the After films, and a fifth installment is in the works. Hero Fiennes Tiffin, whose on-screen chemistry with co-star Josephine Langford has us swooning, recently discussed the couple’s approach to dating rumors.
Hero said “It’s interesting because part of me says, like, ‘I get it. But a part of me says — when you speak to some fans who completely understand from my point of view, they validate why some people’s assumptions are a little bit, maybe immature and jumping the gun. But then again, I get it. I get why you’d see people in a film and kind of want them to be together.”

He also added “When people are young, they care so much. It’s good that they care… I understand [the dating rumors], is probably the best way to put it. But I do really, really appreciate the people who do see it for what it is and see beyond the screen, and understand and respect your personal life and your private life.”
Meanwhile, Hero continued by saying that he “understands” romance rumors are to be expected while working on romantic dramas like the After films, but that he nevertheless makes an effort to keep his personal life out of the public eye, according to an article published in Seventeen.
Like Josephine, who spoke to Cosmopolitan in 2019 about the relationship rumors, she wants to keep her personal life private, including her dating life. The actress didn’t address the claims head-on, but did suggest that shippers are willing to accept “anything.”
