In a published article in VARIETY, the new movie is about a brilliant scholar named Alithea starring Tilda Swinton who encountered a Djin or Genie starring Idris Ilba. This happened Alithea found a mysterious yet beautiful vial while she is in Istanbul.
The Genie appeared to her when the vial burst out and the Djin offered her three wishes in return Alithea will help him gain his freedom. Meanwhile, she has many doubts and questions but the trailer showed about the previous masters of the Djin.

Release Date of ‘Three Thousand Years of Longing’
According to a published article in COLLIDER, the ‘Three Thousand Years of Longing’ has already premiered in Cannes. However, this will only be released in selected theaters on August 31, 2022. Moreover, it was also mentioned in the same report that fans cannot enjoy it yet through a streaming site.
On the other hand, just like other movies that were premiered in Cannes, critics were supposed to give their comments about the movie. It was reported that this received a 6-minute long standing ovation which means that it is in a positive direction.
