After 6 seasons, a ‘Community’ movie is coming out soon, but will Donald Glover become a part of it or will he leave the show?
The announcement of a new ‘Community’ movie is sure to thrill fans of the cult hit series. Sometime in the future, the film will be made available on the Peacock streaming service, completing the series’ meta-joke that it would run for six seasons and a movie. All of the original cast members, as well as the film’s creator, Dan Harmon, were revealed to be coming back for the sequel along with the movie’s announcement.
But not all was peachy, as the fates of certain returning cast members were still unclear. The absence of Yvette Nicole Brown, Chevy Chase, and Donald Glover from the announcement makes it likely that they will not be participating in the film in any capacity, according to an article published in We Got This Covered.
The topic of whether or not Donald Glover will reprise his role in the film is more nuanced than those of Yvette Nicole Brown and Chevy Chase. This begs the question: will Donald Glover return for the Community film?
Will Donald Glover Return?
An indication that Glover will have a part in the movie may be found in one particular detail. Jeff’s portrayer on Community, Joel McHale, was one of the first to hint to the movie’s existence. He tweeted and tagged many cast members, including Donald Glover and, amusingly enough, Gillian Anderson.
It should be noted, however, that as of this writing Glover has not issued a word on the movie. However, it’s not like he has something against the other actors.
