Second Person in Custody in Murder of Detroit Synagogue President

A second individual linked to the murder of Detroit synagogue president Samantha Woll has been apprehended. This follows nearly two months since Woll’s body was found in her synagogue office

Woll, who attended a wedding the night before, returned home around 12:30 a.m. with no signs of forced entry. Investigators believe she was stabbed inside her home and found in her yard. A suspect was arrested on Nov. 8 but released on Nov. 11. Detroit Police Chief James White stated on Oct. 23 that evidence doesn’t suggest antisemitic motivation. Woll served at the synagogue since 2022 and worked on Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin’s team.
