His career developed after being accepted to Eastern Arizona College. While attending the college and studying Agricultural Marketing, he had the opportunity to compete as an Eastern Arizona College rodeo competitor. For the organization, he won 4 of the six events. He continued participating in community and regional events, turning it into a career.
Dan Fowlie changed into a rodeo announcer once he was unable to compete.
