Riley Strain, a missing student, has been found dead in a Nashville river

Two weeks after Riley Strain went missing, his body was discovered in a Nashville, Tennessee river.

The student’s body was found in the Cumberland River on Friday morning, approximately eight miles from the downtown area where he was last seen, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

Riley’s mother, Michelle Whiteid, posted on Facebook on Friday night. “I just ask that you mamas out there hug your babies tight tonight, please, for me,” she said.

What happened to Riley Strain?

The last known whereabouts of 22-year-old Riley Strain is Friday, March 8, according to the MSPD.

According to his relatives, he was asked to leave Luke’s 32 Bridge Food + Drink, a bar located in the Broadway district of the city, at approximately 9:45 p.m.

 

Riley stated he was going back to their hotel when his friends called.

At 9:47 p.m., the young male was captured on camera crossing 1st Avenue North to Gay Street while sporting a two-tone clothing. His route was bringing him nearer to the Cumberland River and farther from his accommodation.

On the evening of March 8, the last signals from his phone placed him close to a park beside the river.

Riley was captured on camera crossing Gay Street the last time he was spotted.

On March 18, Metro Nashville Police made body camera footage of Riley conversing with a police officer that night of his disappearance public. The officer can be seen in the video asking Riley how he is doing as he walks down the street. Riley waves to the policeman and tells him he’s okay before walking away.
