Aroldis Chapman, one of the most terrifying relievers of his generation, has disappointed most of the baseball world. Again.
The former reliever for the Texas Rangers joined with the Pittsburgh Pirates in January. He shared the 30-second video on his Instagram Stories page.

It shows Chapman laying on a couch, cuddling with an elderly, gray-haired woman. Chapman squeezes each of her breasts, and she gently brushes his hands away. Before he ceases groping with his hands. He kisses her right breast above her shirt. Her legs are under a blanket, and she looks to be fully dressed.
The short footage was shared on X, formerly Twitter, and rapidly attracted a universal “Yikes!” reaction from followers, with Chapman trending on X and elsewhere.
The footage remained on Chapman’s Instagram page early Wednesday morning.
Several web sleuths speculated, based on other photographic evidence, that the woman is Chapman’s mother, but this has yet to be proven.
Aroldis Chapman’s previous case
The 36-year-old, who joined with the Pittsburgh Pirates in January, was notoriously suspended for 30 games by MLB in 2016 for domestic abuse charges. In October 2015, Chapman was accused of shoving and choking his fiancée while also firing eight rounds, but no charges were brought.
On the mound, the southpaw closer is most famous for his record-breaking fastball. He threw the fastest recorded pitch in MLB history, at 105.8 mph.
A small group of internet investigators discovered images of Chapman’s mother that appeared to match the woman in the video. However, the woman’s identity has not been established. It’s also unclear why the fireballer shared the footage in the first place.
