Robert Downey Jr. For His First Oscars Win
In the film, which is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Cillian Murphy as the groundbreaking atomic weapons scientist, Downey Jr. portrays Lewis Strauss, J Robert Oppenheimer’s adversary. Having previously been nominated for best actor in 1993 for Chaplin, this is Downey’s first Oscar victory. and for Tropic Thunder’s 2009 Best Supporting Actor.

With a number of significant best supporting award wins for the part, the actor was the clear favorite to win the prize. It includes the Screen Actors Guild, Bafta, and Golden Globes. He had to defeat a formidable opponent, though, which included Mark Ruffalo for Poor Things, Ryan Gosling for Barbie, and Robert De Niro for Killers of the Flower Moon.
Downey is a superb performer. His massive presence shone a spotlight on everything that made the Marvel Cinematic Universe possible—and, for a little while, exciting. He may also focus that light to create the intense concentration of a performance. similar to the one he submitted with Less Than Zero from 1987. Calibrating is his specialty, and he should win an Oscar for it. The fact that he won an Oscar for this performance in particular seems like something that will seem strange in ten years.
