Steve Vannderbeek is the spouse of Cindy Vanderbeek, who died in strange circumstances. Her husband murdered her as she was heading for her boat exhibition. After her missing person report was made in 1995, no trace of her was ever recovered.

Cindy was preparing to attend a family gathering in March 1995, according to her sister Sandra DiFranco and mother Camille Catchpole, when Cindy and Steve stopped in Maryland on their way back to Florida. Cindy Vanderbeek’s Cause of Death
After there was no word of Cindy’s existence, her family were concerned about what may have happened to their darling Cindy. On the other hand, her husband, Steve, was observed to be carefree and joyful, despite his wife’s absence. Steve was accused of murdering Cindy because he stopped back at Cindy’s residence and transferred substantial sums of money from Cindy and Stev’s joint account and Cindy and Camille’s account.
