Authorities say at least three people were killed and six others were injured after a shooter opened fire at a motorcycle bar in Southern California on Wednesday night.
Deadly Shooting Leaves Four Dead and Several Injured in Orange County
Around 7 p.m., the incident happened near Cook’s Corner in Trabuco Canyon. A small unincorporated settlement in Orange County’s east. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department reports that four individuals died. There was the suspected shooter on the scene.
Six additional persons were taken to hospitals, five of them were said to have suffered gunshot wounds. Of the six victims, two had serious wounds. Brian Fennessy, chief of the Orange County Fire Authority, said.
Undersheriff Jeff Hallock stated at a press conference that deputies responded. Around 7:04 p.m., there were “multiple 911 calls of shots being fired” at the pub. Deputies then encountered a “male subject.” When a deputy-involved shooting happened, who was equipped with a gun?
The individual who is thought to have been engaged in the shooting “is currently dead at the scene.” “At least one weapon was found at the scene,” Hallock continued.
The sheriff’s department made the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter. No deputies were hurt in the incident. Authorities were attempting to determine whether the suspect was retired law enforcement, according to Hallock.

Cook’s Corner is a renowned pub in Southern California among the motorcycle community. During the week, many motorbike riders and aficionados congregate there. And on weekends, there’s live music, open mic nights, and the occasional drink.
Several customers had gone by for a drink and a dinner hours before the incident. The gravel entryway was lined with rows of motorbikes and bikes. Plaques tell the story of the pub, which was erected in 1884.
Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, said he was keeping an eye on the situation “and coordinating with local officials as more details become available.”
