Police in Phoenix are investigating a murder-suicide at a Phoenix firm, where an employee was killed, and another guy died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officers from the Police Department responded to a shooting complaint at a Chevron gas station at 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road around 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday. When they arrived, they discovered an employee, Shane Knoll, 30, bleeding from several gunshot wounds. He was declared dead at the site. Officers were led to the business’s parking lot, where they discovered another guy, 40-year-old Jaime Flores, on the ground with a gunshot wound. Flores was brought to the hospital but died due to his injuries.
Who is Jaime Flores?
Officers were directed to the store’s parking lot, where they spotted another man, Jaime Flores, 40, who was also lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. Flores died from his injuries shortly after being transferred to the hospital.
Why did Jaime Flores kill Shane Kroll?
According to investigators, Kroll and Flores got into a fight, and Kroll produced a weapon during the struggle. Flores shot Kroll after obtaining the gun. In a statement, Sgt. Philip Krynsky said, “Witnesses later reported to officers that the suspect walked a short distance away before turning the gun on himself.” There were no additional injuries reported.
The investigation is On:
We have no idea what triggered the shooting. Police have identified the shooter as Jaime Flores, 40, and the victim as Shane Kroll, 30. An investigation is still ongoing. While working at the neighbourhood auto shop and staring out the garage, Roman Yslava notices a lot. Yslava called 911 after witnessing the incident at the convenience store across the street. Yslava stated, “I’d never seen something like that before; I couldn’t believe it happened.”
Witness Statement:
According to witnesses, the guy seemed high before entering the gas station. Yslava believes she chatted with the man just before the event. “As I can see while he was talking to me, he had a jacket over, a piece of foil, and a straw,” he explained. According to Yslava, the suspect entered the petrol station and then out onto the parking lot, where he witnessed the man take a few draws on a cigarette before turning the gun on himself. “He [suspect] got up, walked into the petrol station, came out, grabbed his cigarettes, packed it twice, took one out, and took two puffs. After witnessing what he did, Yslava can’t help but let his mind wander. “I’m going to drive home thinking it might have been us. He could have drawn the gun and shot us without regard for anyone.”
