Jimmy Millar was a Scottish footballer under Dunfermline Athletic, Rangers, Dundee United, and the national football team of Scotland as a center forward. He was born on November 20, 1934, in Edinburgh. He joined Rangers for 5000 Euro on January 12, 1955, at the age of 21, from his old team Dunfermline Athletic where he was a midfielder. He also played at Ibrox in the early period of his career.

Millar’s performance as a center forward gave him success in a pre-season tour of America. Millar was a crucial player of the Rangers in the 1960s with teammates like Bobby Shearer, Eric Caldow, Davie Wilson, John Greig, Jim Baxter, and Alex Scott. Millar’s total goal score was 30 in the Scottish Cup, a post-war record for Rangers. “Starting his career at Dunfermline, Millar was signed by Scot Symon in January 1955 and went on to enjoy a 12-year spell at Ibrox.
“Millar lifted three league titles, five Scottish Cups, and three League Cups during his time at the club and was later inducted into Rangers’ Hall of Fame.
“A tough, brave and quick center-forward, Millar scored an impressive 162 goals in 317 Rangers appearances.
“Our thoughts are with Jimmy’s family at this sad time.”
As Jimmy’s family was interviewed, his son mentioned that Jimmy recognized him before his death.

Jimmy Millar and Ralph Brand had a partnership that dominated the football world in the early 1960s. Together, they won 12 major honors in a six-year period, including a Treble in 1963 and the 1961 European Cup Winners Cup Final. The pair scored over 300 goals.
