‘The Vampire Diaries’ is one of the hit series on Netflix since the streaming platform struck the deal with the CW including the network’s other programs.

It has a total of 8 seasons and remained uncontested despite the rise of other vampire-related series content like ‘Twilight’ and ‘True Blood’.

However, a recent announcement from Netflix shock the fans of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ after it was included on the list of TV series that will be renewed and canceled this September.

Here are some of the things that we know so far about the hit series ‘The Vampire Diairies’ and its current status on Netflix.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ on Netflix

In a published article on Screen Rant, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Seasons 1-8 will be leaving Netflix soon. According to the recent announcement released by Netflix that fans can stream it until September 3, 2022 only. But beyond that, you can no longer watch the hit series.

Meanwhile, it is still not clear where or what other streaming platform the vampire hit series will land. There is still no report if there are negotiations made between ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and other streaming sites. For sure, the CW will release its official statement soon.

How Will It Affect Netflix?

Netflix continues to cancel some of its series and TV shows because of the financial issues they are encountering. According to a report published in Vanity Fair, this decision is expected to reduce the number of subscribers of the streaming platform.

Needless to say, it can be remembered that one of the reasons why Netflix continues to cancel is also because it lost a whooping figure of subscribers after it changed its options and payments.
